New B - a short story

Kaitlyn moved to Lendensberg at the age of 8. "I am new and no one will like me, not even the teachers", Kaitlyn said to herself. She didn't want to move. She had friends in Oak Dale, not in Lendensberg.
The first day of school came. Kaitlyn was not thrilled. Kaitlyn's new teacher's name was Mrs. Kline. Mrs. Kline was so friendly and loved Kaitlyn immediately. "Kaitlyn, how are you today", asked Mrs. Kline. "Fine", answered Kaitlyn. There was also this one girl named Camille that opened up to Kaitlyn. They became best friends.
The first day Kaitlyn was at the new school she started writing a story about her life. Everyday when Kaitlyn finished her work she would write.
Mrs. Kline saw her love of writing, but she didn't say anything until she was sure. Kaitlyn continued to write during class. As the year went by they took a writing benchmark and normally a kid scores about a average 7 or 8, but not Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn scored a level 10. Now Mrs. Kline was sure.
One day Mrs. Kline had a talk with Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn thought she was in trouble. " Kaitlyn I have been watching you this year and wanted to ask you if you like to write". "I don't like to write, I love to write". "Well I was looking through your journal and I love your ideas". Kaitlyn was overwhelmed with happiness. She loved to write and was glad someone thought she was good.
Kaitlyn was starting to like life in Lendensberg. It wasn't what she thought it would be. She was the new B, but now she felt like she fit in perfectly.

Friday Favorite #3

This week my Friday favorite is my new online school. I now go to an online charter school called IQ Academy TX. I love going to school online. It is challenging and independent. I can work at my own pace. I can do all my work in one day or do a lesson each day.I have five courses Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Enrichment. My favorite subject is English. I also have more time to do what I want, like write. I can do a whole lot more than I would ever be able to do when I attended public school.  I also just love to be home. I enjoy eating lunch everyday with my mom and dad. I love my parents more than anything in the world. These are all the reasons why my new online school is my Friday favorite for this week.

The Legend of the Taco

Once there was a Chef. No one liked his food, so he stopped cooking. He sat there at his desk with his chin on the edge. Suddenly a fluffy, white, flour tortilla appeared in front of him. He thought it was a sign for him to get up and cook. He thought and thought and thought. "People didn't like my food so why try", he thought out loud. This Chef loved a challenge, so he tried again. He used the tortilla and stuffed all his favorite things inside. "I need beef, tomato, lettuce, and CHEESE", he said. He heated up the tortilla and stuffed the ingredients inside. He named his creation, Taco. The taco had became a favorite  to all who ate it. He was overwhelmed with happiness. He continued to cook and soon afterwards he began to give his taco recipe out to the world.

Friday Favorite #2

My Friday favorite this week is Just Dance 2 for Wii. Just Dance 2 for Wii is a dance program on the Wii that allows you to dance to famous songs and get in the groove. I love the active workout. It's fun and keeps me in shape. I am the best in my family! I enjoy being the youngest and the greatest. You would think I would be the worst with no experience.I don't mind getting beat once or twice. When I get beat I just tell myself to do better and work on that one song. I never give up. That's why Just Dance 2 for Wii was the Friday favorite of this week.

Friday Favorites

Each week on Friday I will post a short story about a favorite thing or moment that happened to me that week, here's the first one:

I ran to the library door and flung it open. Today I was looking for a new book. There I stood in a swarm of books. I already had 3 books checked out, so I only had one chance to find the book of my dreams. I had 5 minutes left, so I raced back and forth, picking up book after book. Then suddenly I remembered the author of Island of the Blue Dolphins. His name is Scott O' Dell. I searched every aisle until I finally got to the O section. I rolled my finger down the spine of every book until I got to Scott O' Dell. After many arguments in my head about which book to choose, I think I found a new favorite book, Sing Down the Moon!

New Year is Just Moments Away

Tick tock! Tick Tock! The clock was counting down to midnight. Nick, Kristina, Derek and Kenzie were wide awake, waiting for the clock to strike. Dong! Dong! That was the sound the kids were waiting for, it was 12 o'clock.
"Happy New Year!", they all yelled. They grabbed their horns and raced out the door. They ate s'mores and drank sparkling apple cider. While they ate they watched the fireworks. Boom! Pop! There they flew, green, red, blue, and many more colors. They thought it was beautiful.
It was a magical night and Nick, Kristina, Derek and Kenzie finally got what they were waiting for. "Time for bed", Mom said. "Oh, Mooom"!
